Matt Dalio wants to bring an inexpensive computer to the world’s growing middle class.
Dear Matt,
I am a community college math teacher. I have developed my own Course Management System (MyMathText) that I am using to teach Statistics. It is free to my students and eliminates the cost of textbooks by using OER instead. Next year MMT will be replaced by MyClassText which will be used by 20-30 other teachers at Evergreen Valley College and San Jose City College to teach a wide variety of STEM and non-STEM courses. We anticipate saving our students collectively $250,000 in textbook costs in the year’s time. I would like to offer you the opportunity of including MCT as part of the software available on your Endless Computers. Unlike Kahn Academy, MyClassText seeks first to utilize videos created by an individual student’s very own teacher for help in doing homework problems, etc. The teacher can elect to use Kahn or any other OER as a resource as well.
If you would like to get together, I am local and teach in San Jose. Here is my home hone: 408-778-5622. Here is my cell phone: 650-465-8971.
I am not selling anything. I have not made any money from my platform. I am not about making money, but I am about making a difference.
Sincerely,
Rob Knight
