Rep. Anna Eshoo of the House Communications and Technology Subcommittee discusses recent developments.
If I am paying AT&T(or Verizon etc…) for access to the internet, how can they then limit the access that I am paying for? They say Netflix is making money off of their “pipe” but I am paying for that pipe, it isn’t free!
If the broadband provider wants to limit access to ANYTHING they should tell me so that I can sue, and change providers. That is a law I would like to see, if net neutrality ends.
With the knowledge that major enterprises in the world are gaining ownerships of news media, this control is vital to prevent loss of information and loss of truth in reporting. Another legislation should be to demand truth in all news coverage: if the total truth is NOT known, that fact should always be acknowledged by the media sources. Openly false news presentations, just as in false product advertising, should have penalties ascribed to abuses. These penalties/bad publicities should apply to political ‘product’ advertising as well.
